Background Information

Our practice was established in 1927 and is the oldest and largest in San Diego County with two convenient locations. The Center for Oral and Facial Surgery is made up of exceptional people who are committed to working in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. We are motivated to achieve the highest standards of quality care. “To serve our patients with integrity and deliver the highest quality of professional care in a soothing and comfortable environment” is more than our mission statement; it is the philosophy behind everything we do.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, Drs. Hendrix, Pavel, Eckstein and Oleksy manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. We practice a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from Cosmetic Facial Surgery to Corrective Jaw Surgery and Wisdom Tooth Removal. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and performs a full range of Dental Implant procedures.

Dr. William E. Hendrix, Dr. Frank L. Pavel, Dr. James R. Eckstein and Dr. Brian K. Oleksy have a team trained in assisting with IV Sedation and General anesthesia within our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

The surgical staff at the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery are experienced, certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Assistants who have completed specialized training as OMS Assistants. We also have trained Registered Nurse’s (RN’s) who assist in the administration of IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. All staff are CPR certified.  Our administrative personnel are well versed in health and insurance policies.

Our practice has grown, in large part due to our patient’s kind referrals.  We encourage you to recommend our office to your family and friends.  

If you have been referred by your dentist, he or she will promptly receive a letter outlining our findings and the course of treatment.  We encourage you to return to your dentist after our specialized care is complete.
